FSS Events 

The FSS organises relaxed events and excursions for seafarers. 

Seafarers who are entitles to FSS services can participate in FSS events. Maritime students and retired seafarers are also welcome, as long as there is space available.

Our events are held primarily in Finnish. However, you may still be able to participate in some events even if you do not speak Finnish, depending on the type of activity and the practical arrangements.

Recurring Events

FSS organises a range of annual favourites as well as other changing events and activities throughout the year. You can always find the latest information in the Event Calendar.

Messilä Winter Sports Day

Spend a spring day outdoors with fellow seafarers. During the day, you can enjoy downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and relaxed time together.

Autumn Hiking Week

Join us for an autumn week in the fells of Ylläs. We stay in cabins and make day hikes to enjoy the area's beautiful landscapes.

Ropework Course

Learn traditional seamanship skills on this three-day course and create a variety of practical and decorative ropework items. The course is suitable for both beginners and those with previous ropework experience.

Tournaments

FSS organises tournaments for seafarers throughout the year, including darts, floorball, golf and football. Ask your colleagues or get in touch with us mepa(at)mepa.fi
